Religion
Major religion
The major religion of Bohemia at the time was Christianity, or more precisely Catholic. It is this way due to an event dating back hundreds of years before Germany ever had control of Bohemia. This event was the 30 years war. The 30 years war was a religious battle against Roman Catholics and Protestants. About 2/3 of Bohemia was Protestant while only 10% was Catholic, and Rudolf II wanted to remove the Protestants from the region, but this would be an impossible task. It would be so hard because Bohemia was an important economic region and a melting pot of culture where everone brought their expertise to the region. It ended up turning into a war where the Catholics won resulting with Roman Catholic being the major religion in the area. Shown in the picture below is a boy at his First Communion in Graslitz, a town in Bohemia.
Minor Religion
The only minor religion located in Bohemia at the time was Protestant. The is due to the fact that the Catholics won the 30 years war resulting in the increased amount of people that are Catholic and the decreased amount of people that are Protestant. If the 30 years war would have been won by the Protestants the outcome would have changed a lot of things.
